Play a fantasy RPG with an AI Game Master.

Kingdoms, spirits and old bargains. An AI Game Master runs the realm, plays every villager, knight and thing under the river, and remembers what your character gave up to get here. Free to start in your browser.

Fantasy runs on the long game. An oath sworn in the first hour, a bargain with something old, a grudge a lord has carried since before you were born. That needs a Game Master that remembers, and most AI games lose the bargain by the third scene. Auferet stores every named person, place and promise as a record it reads on every turn, so what your character gave up stays given up.

Describe a character in a sentence and the Game Master opens the scene. You type what you do in plain words. No sheet to build first, no group to assemble.

Recorded, three turns in

The bargain held

The opening

The wooden floorboards of your hut tremble, vibrating with a deep, unnatural hum that rattles the ceramic jars on your shelves. You stand in the silence of your own voicelessness, your hands trembling at your sides as the wood of the door begins to splinter under the pressure from without.

Turn two, at the ford

> I find the miller's daughter at the ford and ask her, in signs, what she saw when the water turned.

You reach the ford, your boots sinking into the wet silt of the bank. As you approach and gesture with your hands, asking what she saw, she trembles and points toward the center of the dark, upstream-flowing river.

Turn three, in the water

> I wade in to my knees and try to bargain with the river spirit again.

You press your palms together and cast your intent into the rushing dark, seeking the ancient, fickle presence you know waits beneath. It does not speak, but the water around your legs grows impossibly still, waiting for whatever offer you intend to make in your silence.

Recorded on 2026-09-28 on the free-tier model. A fresh account started from the seed line "I'm a hedge witch in a border village. Three winters ago I traded my voice to the river spirit for one summer of rain, so I speak only with my hands. Tonight the river has started running backward". The traded voice was set in the seed and never typed again: the opening has you standing in the silence of your own voicelessness, turn two has you asking in signs and the Game Master answers in gestures, and at turn three the spirit waits for an offer made in your silence. The Game Master's lines are excerpted here, word for word; the whole play, every turn, is published as a JSON file.

A few turns is short memory. Sixty is the test: five facts planted in the first turns of a story on the free model, asked about at turn 20, 40 and 60, once with only recent conversation to read and once with persistent memory.

What it keeps track of

A realm that keeps its own records

A world that keeps records

Villages, courts, orders and spirits are stored as real entities with histories, so nobody resets to friendly.

Oaths and bargains

What you swore and what you traded away persists across sessions and gets called in when it costs the most.

Magic with a price

Spells, curses and blessings are tracked as part of your character and the story, including the ones you cannot undo.

Fight, talk, sneak or bargain

Draw steel, plead a case at court, slip past the guard or deal with the thing under the river. The Game Master resolves the approach you actually take.

Your own realm

Upload your world's lore as a PDF or text file and it becomes canon the Game Master plays inside.

Free to start

Free to start, and the full memory system is on every plan including free.

Getting in

One line and you are in the realm

Open a browser

No launcher, no install. There is an Android app if you would rather have an icon.

Say who you are in the realm

A hedge witch, a squire, a dragon's bookkeeper. One line does it, or tap a scenario above.

Talk instead of picking options

Say what you do. The Game Master runs the realm, everyone in it, and any dice the moment calls for.

Leave, come back, the oath still stands

The bargain, the grudges and everyone you crossed are exactly where you left them.

Questions

Running a fantasy campaign, answered

Do I need to know a fantasy rules system?

No. Describe your character in a line and play in plain language. If you want a full sheet and dice, switch on a system mode or build your own rules with a custom game mode.

Does it remember the people and places in my world?

Yes. Every named villager, knight, spirit and town is stored with its history with you, and read back whenever it appears again.

Can I play solo?

Yes, solo is the default. You can also invite friends into the same realm with a share code and take turns.

Can I use my own setting?

Yes. Upload your worldbook or notes and the Game Master runs your canon rather than a generic kingdom.

Is it free?

Sign in to play free, with 10 credits to claim every day. The memory system is identical on every plan.

What makes a fantasy campaign hard for an AI to run?

The long game. A fantasy story runs on oaths, bargains, old grudges and the rules of its own magic, set early and paid for late. A game that only reads the last few messages loses them, so the spirit you bargained with in hour one greets you like a stranger in hour six. Holding all of that is the whole difficulty, and it is what the memory system is for.

Can I run a dungeon crawl or a court intrigue?

Yes. Describe what you do in plain words and the Game Master runs the consequences, including the parts that go wrong. You can play it purely narrative, or switch on a system mode so fights and traps resolve on real dice instead of vibes.

Does it track spells, gear and gold?

It tracks them as part of your character and the story rather than through a built-in spell list, so what you carry, what you have cast and what you owe stay consistent because the world remembers them. If you want hard numbers behind that, build the rules you want with a custom game mode, or use one of the ready system modes.

Can I play it on my phone?

Yes. It runs in a mobile browser with nothing to install, and there is an Android app if you would rather have an icon. Your world is saved in the browser you play in, so export it first if you want to carry it to another device.

Make a bargain you cannot take back.

The realm keeps its own records, so what you traded away stays traded. Free to start, in your browser.
