The named numbers on the sheet: abilities, approaches, ratings. The modifier formula is optional, for systems where a number implies a bonus, like floor((STR - 10) / 2).

Anything that rises and falls in play: health, luck, sanity, stress, ammo. The max formula is optional and can use attributes and level.

Numbers worked out from other numbers, like defenses or initiative. Formulas can use attribute keys, modifiers (STR_mod), and level.

Named things characters roll for - skills, saves, approaches - and the attribute each keys off.

Temporary states with rules attached: conditions, injuries, stances, forms, moods. The effects text is enforced in play; the check modifier applies to every check automatically while active. Tick valued for states with a severity (Frightened 2) - the modifier multiplies by the value.

Every value your game tracks that is not a number or a pool: on/off flags (Inspiration, an alarm), a choice from fixed options (a stance, a form), stepped clocks and condition tracks, or a short text value (what a character is concentrating on). The Game Master records changes with a tool; nothing lives in its memory.
